In 2015, Darren started Fixation Builders. He had one apprentice; they built one house at a time. The business grew—and so did our desire to provide a more complete service to our clients. Stacey came on board as Business Manager, and Pete bought into the business as a Partner, and Project Manager.
We continue to add to our team, helping others to achieve their professional goals. We recognise that a satisfied team with diverse experience, and perspectives can help develop houses that you can envision as your home.

Each member of our diverse team are viewed as an integral part of the build, and are kept in the know on every detail of each project we undertake. From apprentice to tradesperson, our team feel invested, and understand that their contribution is crucial to the success of the project.
OUR PEOPLE
At Fixation Builders, we’ve taken the time to carefully build our team. We ensure our values are in line with our employees, and that we provide a workplace where people are heard, and supported.
We aim to keep a strong team that are all striving towards team, and personal goals - from developing high quality homes, to completing an apprenticeship with us. We’re keen to give our already qualified builders opportunities to up-skill, and improve their craft. We even support people into leadership roles, such as supervisors, and project managing.
We make an effort to keep our team culture strong, and enjoy our work. Our team participates in team-building days off site, regular one on one check ins, and added support to ensure our mental, and physical health as well. This approach facilitates a healthy work/life balance, and as a bonus you’ll gain extra time off with each year you work with us.

Fixation Builders is a growing construction company that specialises in residential high end new builds, renovations, and extensions, in one of the most spectacular locations in the country. We are expanding our team, and have another great opportunity for an experienced, qualified builder to join our ever growing crew. This role could also suit someone recently qualified who is looking to fast track into a Foreman role.
Our small, like minded team is passionate about what they do, and like to make the most of what Queenstown has to offer outside of work. Whether you are local, or have been looking to make the leap and move to Queenstown, we would like to hear from you. Our projects provide a lot of variety, ranging from high end architectural new builds, to renovations, and extensions.
